What makes a mystery show so interesting?
In my opinion, three important elements makes mystery show so interesting and entertaining:
- It provides you thrill and suspense.
- It provides you just enough clues to solve the mystery if you can think analytically and rationally.
- The emotional impact made and what you learn from it.
ID: INVΛDED is the show which can give all these elements with a blend of skillful artwork by studio NAZ
Now let's talk about minor synopsis, the anime follows the investigation of Narihisago(protagonist), a well-renowned detective currently in prison who is tasked to dive into the ID Wells of various serial killers. After watching 2 to 3 episodes you will surely be confused about the term ID Well. Its a mental plane of the killer/victim that can be digitally penetrated or entered to collect clues and data regarding the killer's victims, crime scenes, and suspect's motives. Simply, it can be referred to as the subconscious mind of the serial killer/victim. The Main character Akihito Narihisago dives into the ID well to solve the murder mystery of the girl named Kaeru as a brilliant detective named Sakaido. After, he finds the clue behind the murder mystery inside the ID well it becomes really useful to solve the case in the real world.
In every episode, there are different ID Wells of different serial killers with unique structures filled with mysteries. The majority of the story takes place inside ID Wells. Only victims and other killers can dive into the ID Well of the serial killer. The animation, character design, cinematography are really awesome and I highly appreciate the skill of NAZ studio at such artworks.
Besides in every minor mystery arc, there is a huge scheme going behind. There is a mysterious character called Jhon Walker who appears in almost every crime ID Wells whose identity isn't revealed yet.
This series is scripted in such a way that if you are to seriously take down notes of each and every clue that you've noticed from the start and process it analytically and rationally you may be able to solve the mystery of Jhon Walker. It also depends upon your IQ level. Anyway, it is a tough mental exercise just to keep up with the series. But when the identity of the Jhon Walker is revealed it's so unexpected that you'd be thrilled to bits. Soundtrack was a bop, the art style was amazing, the voice acting was on point, and the character writing was good. Overall I have no gripes with this show its something unique and refreshing.
We haven't seen that much mystery anime or movies which had a very impressive plotline and could leave a deep impact of emotion to viewers. But ID: INVADED played it well. It shows the mental and emotional feeling of the main character towards his family At very first it does not tends to show any emotion but when it does it is really impactful and heart touching especially in episode 10.
This is one of the mind-blowing shows I have ever watched. At first, you feel it wired but as the show proceeds, it will play with your mind. It's very good for mystery anime lovers. Still, something remains unexplained in this series, so there might be a next season. unfortunately, it has only one season and As per now, no official announcements are made so far regarding the second season. We hope there might be an official announcement about the second season by end of 2020 AD or the start of 2021 AD.
